Results – Programme Cover Image Competition

The Programme Cover Image Competition for 2022-2023 was held online during May. Members were able to view the images and vote online and the winning image will be used on the cover of the Society’s print programme for 2023-2024.

during June. Members were able to view the images and vote online and the winning image will be used on the cover of the Society’s print programme for 2022-2023.

Runner-up: John Sherringham ANPS, “Great Tit Coming in to Land””

Joint Third place: David Smith, “Elephants in the river” and Cath Ind, “Gannets Galore”

Runner-up: David Smith, “Young Leopard”

Third place: Keith Greig, “Bluebell Wood”


The Programme Cover Competition for 2019-2020 was held on Tuesday 31st March. Tony Charters and David Smith critiqued the images, and members voted for the winner and runners-up. Using online software and logging in remotely, members were able to view the images, listen to the judges’ critiques and vote. The winning image will be used on the cover of the Society’s print programme for 2020-2021.

Winner: James Smith, “Battersea Power Station”

Runner-up: Anthony Wiltshire, “Yellowstone”

Third place: Richard Sheldrake, “Friends”


The Programme Cover Competition for 2018-2019 was held on Tuesday 22nd January. Tony Charters critiqued the images, and members voted for the winner and runners-up. The winning image will be used on the cover of the Society’s programme for 2019-2020.
